A transit system with a guide and rubber tires has been used in an airport passenger track transport system. The APM (Automated People Mover) went into service at the New Hong Kong Airport, which was opened in July 1998. To make the system applicable for transport in crowded areas, the avtivities are focused on improving the transport vehicle's vibration and noise. The APM used at the New Hong Kong Airport has noise about 7 dB lower than conventional vehicles.
