Mathematical models of railway vehicles have successfully been used in Sweden since 1971. The mathematical models have been made in several computer codes through the years. The names of the computer codes which have been used during the years are LSTAB, PSL, SIMFO, and since 1993, GENSYS. When a major upgrade of the package was done, the package was given a new name. The structure of the programs in the new GENSYS-package is in its design very flexible, in order to meet different users' various demands.
