Based on these tests results, it is apparent that nontopographic photogrammetry has a capability to provide accurate, meaningful data to experimentally analyze certain aspects of postbuckled structures. In particular, the capability of NTP to supply data on initial imperfections, buckle geometry, edge effects and transverse displacements exceeds the capability of moire or displacement transducers. By combining NTP with moire, strain gages, and LDVTs, a complete and comprehensive data-base can be formed to verify the analytical methodology required for efficient composite aircraft design. Additional suggested uses of NTP in composite stress analysis include investigations of impactdamaged surfaces and the growth of delamination-type flaws under cyclic loading.
