Wind tunnel investigations of 1:5 scale bus models with rotating wheels have been performed to reduce the mud deposition on body. It was found that the simulation of the ground by moving belt may influence the flow details significantly. The change of outflow from the ground clearance alters the upflow beside the side walls. The structure of the wake may be controlled by the simultaneous effect of the change in underbody flow and in skin friction on the ground surface.
