Nominally two-dimensional flows in two convergent-divergent diffuser models were investigated experimentally. The flows contained a normal shock downstream of the throat with pre-shock Mach numbers ranging to 1.4. Self-sustaining fluctuations occurred invariably and were closely investigated. Steady and fluctuating wall and midstream pressures were measured; high-speed schlieren photography was extensively employed. Shock displacement histories were measured with a line-scan camera technique.
