The operation of a land power station and a ship reactor is different because of the power ramps of the ship. This leads to a different desgin of the reactor fuel with a higher safety leven to revent cumulative failures. On the basis of proved LWR standard technology the design of the Otto Hahn fuel shows special alterations. The results of Hot Cell examinations after using the fuel in the ship reactor and some details of GKSS research programme are given. (Se)
