What is the maximum service temperature of any rubber compound? Certainly the application environment determines the types of rubber, grades of rubber, and optimum compounding technology that can be used. The cost/performance relationship then determines the rubber compound that will be used in a given application. This paper concerns the uniqueness of EPDM rubbers in high heat automotive application. The most current technology to extend EPDM high heat life is featured.
