Pakistan has come out with a 10-year program stressing the need for indigenous development of spacecraft systems and launch capability. A multi-service domestic spacecraft project includes a pair of satellites which will link the remote corners of the country through two TV channels and 12000 telephone circuits. In addition, it will have a significant meteorological component providing data on cyclones, cloud formations and rain patterns.
