Toshiba manufactured and installed a 9000 HP Scherbius system in the wind tunnel facility for a major aircraft manufacturer last year. This is one of the largest Scherbius systems in the world. The following is an explanation of this system, and also includes a brief introduction to the 2000 HP Scherbius system for a pumping plant and a description of new Scherbius equipment utilizing a microprocessor.
