The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is about to adopt Ada as the single high order language for virtually all its military system developments. At its meeting in Washington, DC, in October 1984, the highest level NATO committee responsible for formulating automated data processing (ADP) policy, the NATO Command and Control Data Processing Committee (NCCDPC), decided to recommend the development and application of Ada.
