The electrification of the suburban section of Argentine railways' (FA) General Roca line was first proposed in 1957. The inauguration of public services is due in 1985. The technical aspects of the work have been undertaken by Japan railway technical service (Jarts). The first section of Argentine Railways' General Roca line suburban electrification scheme is complete. This is the 15.6 km section between Temperley and Ezeiza, which is being finished in advance of the other sections for test and demonstration purposes. The completed and planned work on the 25 kV 50 Hz line is described.
