Conventional radio-frequency-interference (RFI) receivers measure various characteristics of the incident RFI signals continuously in time with the capability of selecting the frequency range of interest. The system described here extends the capability of commercially available RFI receivers to selectively measure RFI in time domain as well. The application of this technique to the measure of RFI due to individual cylinders of multicylinder spark ignition engines is described.
