Discusses radio astronomy and the growth of astronomy simulated by the ability to mount instruments in satellites orbiting outside the Earth's atmosphere has opened to investigation the entire spectrum, including u.v. and X-ray astronomy. The discovery of entirely new classes of celestial objects such as pulsars, quasars and possibly black holes are discussed.
