The paper presents a short technical description of the main circuit, of control systems as well as of protecting and measuring systems of a regenerative braking and diesel-electric locomotive starting stand. The stand is equipped with a 3-phase bridge thyristor inverter with line commutation. The functioning of the stand is discussed as well as the results of its hitherto use and thereof resulting conclusions are given.
