A high-voltage ignition distributor is an essential element of the ignition system which determines the correct performance of a motorear engine. The paper presents an analysis of the influence of the fundamental parameters of the ignition distributor on the value of spark energy transmitted to the ignition plug. The reform, width and distance between the electrodes of the ignition distributor have a significant influence on the energy of spark discharge and the value of jump voltage. A proper selection of those elements improves the efficiency of the engine by increasing the discharge energy in the combustion chamber.
