The use of integral diode solar cells for high voltage panels has the advantages of lower weight/m2, higher power/m2 and a 10 % savings to that of the conventional bypass diodes. The integral diode cell may offer many advantages to the panel designer when larger area cells with high voltage (300 volts) circuit are required for space vehicles.
