There are many complex iussues which must be addressed in the design of a high power multivoltage output aircraft electrical system. The trade-off presented by various alternatives must be evaluated on a system level basis to achieve an optimum solution. Power generation at higher voltages and frequencies can offer significant advantages. Power conditioning subsystems can directly affect the choise of specific operating parameters. The approach presented in this paper is typical of the evaluation process that must be employed to achieve an optimum solution for complex electrical system requirements.
