It is very important for EMC Measurements to be performed in an environment which is better than the specified limits. The best solution for this purpose is a Faraday Cage. For Spacelab Test set-ups two Faraday Cages of different dimensions were developed. The first one was used for the Long Module plus one Pallet (LM + 1P) and the second for the IGLOO plus three Pallet spread (IGLOO + 3P) test configuration. The Faraday Cage had a volume of approximately 1500 m3 and 800 m3 respectively. Due to low-cost requirements and parallel testing constraints in the integration hall, the decision was made to make a reuseable and transportable cage with wire mesh lengths. The investigations and improvements of the two different cages with the test set-ups as well as the evaluation of the test results between 10kHz-10GHz will be illustrated.
