Testing of the receiver using this digital demodulation scheme on board an actual vehicle has still not been performed but the lab results under simulated worst case conditions are very encouraging. For operation in an environment where the impulse noise is severe and the sinusodial interference and Gaussian noise levels are low, the Digital FSK Receiver appears to be ideal. Conventional analog receivers are inoperable in a o dB signal to noise ratio environment. As long as the nature of the interference is predominantly sharp impulse noise, the Digltal FSK Receiver shows virtually no susceptability to the noise.
