Field of airborne avionics for civil aircraft will continue to be dominated by US companies, despite a growing challenge from overseas producers for limited segments of the market, unlike the situation in ground-based avionics. The dominance of US suppliers results from the large market generated by produced aircraft and technical competence sharpened by keen competition among numerous American Avionics companies.
