Tests to investigate the bond capacity under combined shear and normal load show that the shear capacity decreases with increasing tension load. The failure criterion derived from the test series can be used for the design of safe SPS structures capable to withstand normal operating loads. The paper discusses different techniques for the finite-element modeling of the debonding process.
