This paper focuses on the group decision making problems with preference information on alternatives in form of ordinal intervals. A fuzzy set approach is proposed, where the ordinal interval information on alternatives is matched into intervals in [0,1], and further transformed into the fuzzy set over basic linguistic evaluation set. 2-tuple linguistic values are then obtained for ranking the alternatives. An example is given for illustrating the proposed approach.
