Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese government has paid more and more attention to maritime security issues. The position of the sea in safeguarding national sovereignty, security and development interests has become more prominent, and its strategic position in international political, economic, military, scientific and technological competition has also risen significantly. The unmanned development of naval equipment is a milestone in the history of naval equipment development, and it is an important tool for a major country to maintain maritime security, which will have a profound impact on the future maritime operation mode. With the performance of maritime unmanned equipment improving and the combat scope and methods being diversified, it has received more and more attention. Submarines are long-term dominant maritime combat equipment. Most of the countries are studying the coordination of submarines and unmanned systems to greatly improve combat capabilities. The present study mainly describes and analyzes the current situation, deficiencies, and development trends of the marine unmanned equipment system in detail. The research direction suggestions on strengthening the research of mission overall planning, combat mission analysis and combat support technology are put forward, and the key technologies that need to be further studied in the future are proposed to support the construction of unmanned equipment system at sea.
