Abstract Recent progress in rubber science is explained on a few topics developed in this century. That is, reinforcement by nano-fillers is elucidated using the visualized filler networks constructed on the base 3D-TEM observations, rubber network structures analyzed by scattering and spectroscopic technique, and a new mechanism of the traditional vulcanization is described.
