This chapter deals with analysis the contact areaContact areabetween wheelWheel and rail and the pressure distribution obtained by applying Hertz’s theoryHertzHertz’s theory. Since railway accidents result in heavy loss of life and property, the derailment risk levels according to Nadal’s formula are also analysed in this chapter.
