Method vacuum ion-plasma sputtering has been widely used in aviation for the protection of gas turbine blades, combustor components, flaps variable nozzle turbine engines of aircraft.
Use of ion-plasma sputtering, together with application of materials of chrome, nickel, yttrium, aluminum and other has made it possible to increase the service life and reliability of gas turbine engines.
All of the above indicators are relevant for aircraft parts and assemblies operating at high temperature conditions (about 1,700 ℃).
The goal of the Multifunctional Nanostructured Coatings for Aircraft Structures (NANOCOAIRS) project is to investigate the use of nanostructured multilayer coatings for use in an aircraft anti icing system.
