Abstract In LEO spacecraft, the main uses of a propulsion system are to raise or lower the orbit and to maintain the spacecraft on station in a constellation of spacecraft. The Rocket Equation, given below, describes the fundamental property of a propulsion system. It gives the magnitude of change in spacecraft velocity as a function of the spacecraft and expanded fuel masses.
