Abstract Traffic accidents are becoming increasingly frequent worldwide due to various complex factors. Pedestrian–vehicle accidents comprise the most common type of traffic accidents. Considerable efforts have been exerted to improve the protection of vulnerable road users, particularly pedestrians, against injuries and deaths. Evidently, traffic accident reconstruction techniques, which play an important role in accident investigations, should be studied.
