This chapter presents extensive discussions of multi-wheeled compact vehicles, in particular 8 × 8 \documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$$8 \times 8$$\end{document} configurations. Off-road vehicle behavior depends not only on the total power provided by the engine but also on the power distribution among the drive axles/wheels. In turn, this distribution is primarily regulated by the drivetrain layout and the torque distribution devices. A number of simulation studies, during longitudinal and cornering maneuvers, are conducted to investigate the contribution of typical significant parameters.
