The efficiency of electron thermionic cooling implementation for thermally loaded elements of supersonic aircraft is analyzed taking into account the conductivity of air plasma and Joule heating of the cathode. An example of application of the proposed technique is given: for the case of high-speed flow around a sphere, the qualitative effect of the incident flow velocity is determined, in which the thermionic emission proceeds in the compensated and overcompensated modes.
