There are a number of challenges facing those who would like to design, build, launch, and operate small satellite projects. These can be generally divided into the following categories: (i) technical and operational; and (ii) legal, regulatory, and liability concerns. Although these issues and concerns are interrelated we will address them in this order and from an interdisciplinary perspective.
