The article deals with the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on airport operations. The paper presents identified practicable solutions to reduce the risk of spreading the Covid-19 disease at the airport. The authors then determined how these solutions affect the implementation of airport operations, both in terms of the organization of the ground handling of the aircraft and the operational capabilities of the airport. As part of the work, observations and measurements of movements at the Chopin Airport were made during the suspension of passenger traffic and immediately after its restart. For this purpose, available data sources were used, i.e. the Airport Collaborative Decision-Making (A-CDM) platform for Chopin Airport, the FlightRadar24 website, as well as conducted field measurements. Collected data was used to perform a statistical analysis supplemented with a comparative research of selected operating parameters.

The first and key conclusion from the conducted research is the lack of appropriate procedures or operational readiness in the unprecedented situation of almost complete suspension of air traffic. The resumption of flights is associated with the reorganization of the airport's operational activities with the simultaneous implementation of new solutions during the pandemic. This results, among others, from the need to increase the automation of the information exchange in order to streamline and ensure the continuity of service processes in changing operating conditions. These observations designate the use of the potential of the existing A-CDM information exchange system, which generally has a positive effect on the course of airport operations through real-time data exchange. This system can be extended with an additional Covid-19 component and supply the obtained data to the entire air transport network.
