With the rapid development of information technology, the construction of highway management system has been strongly supported. Vehicle-active safety systems usually use microwave radar to identify surrounding vehicle targets and determine whether there is a potential danger around the vehicle. The invalid signals that often appear in the raw data output by the microwave radar can interfere with the normal operation of the active safety system. At the same time, the vehicle information measured by microwave radar cannot directly reflect the relative lane relationship of other vehicles relative to their own vehicles. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to build a vehicle recognition model for highways in combination with microwave radar and video detection systems. In this paper, microwave radar and visual forward vehicle identification methods are used to realize artificial intelligence vehicle identification. It can be seen from the experiments in this paper that the vehicle recognition model of microwave radar can achieve the automatic detection of vehicles running on the highway and the detection of traffic accidents and road abnormalities. It is of great significance to improve the efficiency of traffic accident rescue and troubleshooting and improve the efficiency of highway operation management.
