The paper proposes a mathematical model of two successive mechanisms of concrete hardening when its surface is impregnated with a colloidal solution of silicon dioxide (SiO2 sol). First, it is the mechanism of physico-chemical hardening of cement stone in the concrete surface. It is realized by activating the cement hardening processes by the surface energy of the introduced sol particles. Secondly, the mechanism of mechanical hardening. The resulting high-strength surface layer (clip) strengthens the concrete sample in the case of a load action.
