To perform the simulations effectively, an appropriate model approach for each component of the powertrain and for the overall powertrain is defined. For the internal combustion engines, a static engine simulation using GT-Power from Gamma Technologies and the FKFS UserCylinder is created. The other components are modelled in MATLAB, MATLAB Simulink and Excel.
