Comparative experimental study was carried out estimating the film cooling efficiency for a plane surface in the case of pulsed blowing of air into the main flow through bands of inclined cylindrical holes. For the considered section of the thermal shield, it was demonstrated that pulsed blowing at an optimal blowing ratio reduces thermal shield efficiency compared to steady blowing. This is associated with the onset of instability of the near-wall flow, which is absent in the case of steady blowing.
