Abstract The Montreal transit system ranks among the ten or so largest systems in North America. Nearly 4000 bus drivers, metro operators and ticket takers are divided into eleven operating divisions. The company operates approximately 1400 buses and 520 subway cars; the metro system currently counts 65 underground stations. Scheduling is required for buses and crews for urban buses, suburban buses, paratransit vehicles and metro lines.
