Pure battery-driven trams often use battery packs in parallel due to power and energy requirements. Because there is no isolation between each group, current circulation is prone to occur during battery use. The multi-stage constant-current charging method causes a lot of trouble, because the charging current of the parallel branch cannot be controlled, and it is easy to cause the charging current to exceed the limit of each branch. This paper introduces a battery system charging control method in which multiple battery packs are connected directly in parallel, which can limit the charging current of each battery pack and ensure that it does not exceed the limit.
