Bulb-ended fiber to flat-ended fiber connections and bulb-ended fiber to bulb-ended fiber connections have been tested with large diameter core optical fibers in different filling conditions and different arrangements. The curves of coupling efficiency versus the longitudinal and transverse misalignments show that these kinds of connection can be useful in medium or high power laser application.
