This paper presents the results of an investigation into the influence of weld porosity on quasi-static, dynamic and fatigue strength. Additionally, the relationship between the weld porosity and the hydrogen content of aluminum die castings was also examined. It was found that the mechanical properties hardly decreased until weld porosity reached about 10% of the total cross-section area and that weld porosity increased with an increasing hydrogen content in the aluminum die castings.
