This paper reports the results of a population survey on drowsiness and driving. The study was designed to test the hypotheses that drowsiness at the wheel is a behavioral phenomenon experienced by a significant portion of the driving population, and that it is a contributing causal factor in vehicular accidents. The questionnaire, asked of 1500 applicants for license renewal, is reproduced in this paper, and frequency distribution of answers by percentage is presented. Responses to several questions were also arrayed across demographic and personal characteristics of the population.
