This paper represents a functional description of the 1980 production Central Fuel Injection (CFI) system as designed and developed by Ford Motor Company for passenger car application. This CFI system is unique in that it represents Ford's first introduction into total electronic fuel control as well as utilizing digital instead of analog computer technology.The paper addresses three distinct areas:
