This specification, in conjunction with the general requirements for steel heat treatment covered in AMS2759, establishes the requirements for heat treatment of precipitation-hardening corrosion- resistant and maraging steel parts. Parts are defined in AMS2759. AMS2759/3F removes the requirement for cooling “within 1 hour” after solution heat treatment from Table 3 for 15-5 PH, 17-4 PH and PH 13-8 Mo, as this has been found to be unnecessary.
