Today's Department of Defense planning guidance emphasizes theater combat capability and readiness and sustainability goals based on forward presence. The Air Force Logistics Command (AFLC) supports this guidance through corporate objectives and specific command planning documents. The overall command strategy is to structure peacetime resources and work loads to meet wartime surge and survivability requirements. Overseas, AFLC intends to forward stock wholesale assets, functions, and accomplish those work loads that make the greatest contribution to combat capability. Particular emphasis is given to the overseas planning arena.
