Recently, a display device with high information density has been increasingly required for automobile applications.A full dot-matrix LCD in negative/transmissive mode is one of the most promissing candidates for an automotive display unit.It has already been suggested that a negative dot-matrix LCD can be applied to automotive use.We now discuss several factors that improve the quality of the display, namely rotation of polarizing axis, rubbing directions and a temperature compensation system.
