In September 20151 ITE International president John J. Kennedy and ITE executive director Thomas W. Brahms led a group of ITE delegates from the US and Canada to examine innovative transportation solutions being applied in Australia and New Zealand. Over the course of two weeks, the ITE delegates visited five cities, meeting with colleagues and fellow ITE members along the way to discuss solutions for common challenges. The lessons learned during the trip will be shared with ITE members through a series of ITE Journal articles, technical sessions at ITE meetings, and Learning Hub webinars. ITE delegates also participated in several town hall meetings with ITE Australia/New Zealand members and Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand Transportation Group members in each city, where they shared their own presentations on topics such as Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts in Bibxi, MS, USA, the "Big Dig" project in Boston, MA, USA, and applications of ITE trip generation data.
