This paper presents a summary of the planetary protection technology development efforts currently being conducted at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). This is a multidisciplinary effort involving JPL and NASA expertise in microbiology, material science, and analytical chemistry, in conjunction with outside, industrial academic collaborators.
