There is a continuing demand for basic information on the volume of traffic using Ireland's road network, on the composition of this traffic and on the way in which it varies from place to place and from year to year. This report presents details of traffic volumes on each part of the National road network during 1980. The report is based on results from an ongoing traffic-counting program. Traffic variability at the random sites is used in the standard way to estimate confidence limits and these are indicated in the text.
