Because of the vast size of the country, air transportation is a critical link in the infrastructure of Brazil. The country is vitally dependent upon it's civil aviation system to link the sparsely inhabited areas with the country's major economic centers. Combining the dependence on air transport with a new national policy to establish a modern market economy, U.S. commercial aircraft and parts manufacturers have a good medium-term market prospect in Brazil as soon as the recession is over.
