A symposium on aircraft fire detector systems was held to familiarize Federal Aviation Administration Regional personnel with the characteristics, capabilities, and limitations of the currently available detector systems. A number of presentations were made by representatives of leading fire detector, helicopter, and small airplane manufacturers, and by representatives of the military and the FAA National Aviation Facilities Experimental Center. All aspects of aircraft fire detection were reviewed. (Author)
